He may be gone but never forgotten, as his legendary photographs live on from covering the Baltimore Orioles as the Team Photographer for 36 years, to extensive stints with Sports Illustrated and Topps. From Sports Illustrated’s Steve Fine on December 26, 2005 “In 1979 he snapped his first cover photo. Over the next 35 years Wachter shot 34 more, demonstrating the rare ability to take stunning pictures of athletes in all four major sports.”
