Scott Wachter (aka “Sportseye”) is a team photographer for the San Diego Padres. Scott began covering the Baltimore Orioles with his Father, Jerry Wachter, at the age of 14 and has covered professional sports since 1984 when he started covering MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL games in the Baltimore/DC area. He currently shoots many athletes, sports organizations, actors and models in Southern California. With 27 years of sports and portrait photo experience, Scott’s clients have included: Photo File, Sports Illustrated, Topps, Cal Ripken, Jr., MLB, MLB Players’ Association, USA Today, Baseball Weekly, many other trading card companies, league licensees, magazines, as well as thousands of youth and amateur athletes.

Scott is based in San Diego, CA, and frequently travels to Los Angeles and Phoenix on assignment. In addition to his annual assignment covering MLB and NFL teams, he specializes in covering youth sports leagues. He has provided both portrait and action photo opportunities to amateur sports teams since 2003 in both Scottsdale and Southern California. He is available for assignments in the San Diego, LA and Phoenix areas.

Scott also handles Jerry Wachter’s digital photo archive. In 2006, Scott published a photo book documenting Cal Ripken, Jr.’s career, which included photographs taken by Scott and his father, Jerry, of the legendary athlete.
